Question:
What is a liquid facelift?
Answer:
Liquid facelifts, lunch-time rhinoplasty and other monikers usually refer to those procedures performed most commonly by dermatologists and other non-surgeons for creating more youthful appearances without surgery. There are, however, some surgeons who do perform these procedures and, in fact, when indicated I do forms of these procedures.
Essentially, liquid facelifts most commonly involve the use of fat or other filler substances, in my practice mainly Sculptra, to restore volume to areas that are appearing older. Botox can also be used to lessen wrinkles or bands of the neck and other types of fillers can be used to create a more youthful appearance. These techniques have their indications, especially for those patients who are looking for quick fixes.
