Question:
Can you explain what Juvederm is, how long the results last and what is it best for treating?
Answer:
Juvederm is a cross link hyaluronic acid in a phosphate buffer. It can also contain lidocaine or it can be plain. There are a number of different types of Juvederm: Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm XC and Juvederm 2. Juvederm itself is used to fill in either depressions in the face or rhytidosis, which would be called wrinkles. It works extremely well around the mouth, in the forehead area and in the crow’s feet outside the eyes. Juvederm is an excellent material that does not require allergic testing and rarely have any complications been associated with it. It can disguise wrinkles excellently. The results last anywhere from two months to nine months depending upon the particular type of Juvederm used and the particular problem it is being used to treat.
