Nearly all surgical procedures performed by Dr. Epstein are performed on an outpatient basis. Dr. Epstein has a surgical suite on the premises which is fully accredited by the State of Florida Board of Medicine, where most procedures can be performed comfortably and safely. Patients usually prefer to have their procedures performed in the office operating room because of comfort, ease of use, and privacy. Dr. Epstein also usually prefers to operate in his office operating room because of the familiar settings and staff who cater to his specifications. The office surgery suite is staffed by registered nurse technicians, an anesthesiologist, nurse anesthetist or the nurse under doctor supervision depending upon the patient and doctor's decision.
South Miami Hospital
Procedures can also be performed at the outpatient surgery center located across the street from Dr. Epstein's office at South Miami Hospital. US News and World Report in 2012 ranked South Miami Hospital the No. 1 hospital in South Florida, based on a pool of 74 hospitals in the Miami-Ft Lauderdale-West Palm Beach market. The prestigious report placed South Mia Hospital among the best nationwide and among the elite in the state. Nationwide, nearly 5,000 US Hospitals were analyzed to choose the best, and South Miami Hospital is one of only 3 percent of hospitals in America to earn US News national ranking.

Consultations
Nothing can take the place of a face-to-face consultation with the doctor. However, in cases of patients traveling from out of town, it is not uncommon to perform the initial consultations electronically. Patients may submit photographs of themselves either electronically or by mail and anticipated procedures can be discussed through phone conversation. There is no charge for consultations.
Anesthesia Choices
Most rhinoplasty procedures are performed with the patient receiving twilight anesthesia. The patient feels and remembers nothing of the surgery. Patients can also have the surgery under general anesthesia, having it performed in a local surgery center. The type of anesthesia will be decided upon in consultation with the doctor.
Fees
In keeping with established policies by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, all fees for plastic surgery procedures are payable in advance. In cases where insurance is applicable, the office can assist with claims submission, and assignment of benefits may require only a deposit. The Foundation for Hair Restoration and Plastic Surgery can set up financial plans offered through several lending institutions that provide services for elective surgical procedures.
Miami Office Hours
The Miami office is open 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday, with extended hours on Wednesday from 9am to 6pm. Hours will vary by location. Patients are also seen in the Boca Raton & Tampa offices every 3-4 weeks. Visits are by appointment only. Call or email the office to schedule an appointment.
